Holophane Double Shade Light

An unusual antique Holophane hanging light fitting with double prismatic glass shades and original mounts and fittings. English 1940s. All taken apart, cleaned and resprayed in original colour. No damage to glass shades, both of which are imprinted with; HOLOPHANE MADE IN ENGLAND. Two new brass Edison screw lampholders have been mounted for perfect positioning of a medium to large bulb for best light output. In this case two opal glass bulbs have been used (easily available). Although the two bulbs used in the photos are bright (100watt equivalent each) there is no glare when you look sideways on at the shades - the prismatic glass gives a good even diffusion. Rewired with 2.5 meters "elephant grey" fabric flex. Chain and ceiling plates can be supplied if required. Dimensions in inches/cms; 28.5"/72.5cm max width at base. 14"/36cm max depth at base. 16"/41cm max height including hooks. 12"/31cm max width of each shade.
